Seoul: LG Electronics Inc. announced it has explored potential collaboration with Saudi Arabia to provide cooling solutions for the Neom smart city project in the Middle East.
According to Yonhap News Agency, LG Electronics CEO Cho Joo-wan met with Saudi Investment Minister Khalid Al-Falih in Seoul to discuss supplying cooling solutions specifically designed for AI data centers within the smart city currently under construction. Neom is a major project funded by Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund, aimed at integrating cutting-edge construction, information, and energy technologies.
LG Electronics expressed its intention to deliver cooling solutions for AI data centers planned for Oxagon, a segment of the Neom project. During the meeting, Minister Khalid Al-Falih highlighted Saudi Arabia's ongoing reforms to transform into an export-driven economy and stated that the country would actively support initiatives that enhance export capabilities.
The South Korean firm also urged Riyadh to closely monitor its partnerships with Saudi enterprises, including DataVolt, a company specializing in data infrastructure, LG Electronics noted.
