Goyang: South Korean defense company LIG Nex1 Co. announced that it has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Airbus Defence and Space (DS) to enhance their strategic partnership and cooperation in advanced defense and aerospace technologies.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the MOU, signed on the sidelines of the Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition (ADEX) 2025, aims to broaden the collaboration between the two companies. The focus will expand beyond current projects to include integrated air defense systems and digital defense solutions. Additionally, the partnership will explore industrial cooperation opportunities, particularly in supporting South Korea's national space programs.
LIG Nex1 and Airbus DS have established a cooperative relationship, having signed an agreement last month to strengthen future collaboration in integrated air defense systems. Lee Hee-hwan, president of Airbus DS Korea, stated that the updated MOU signifies a significant milestone, elevating their partnership to a new level. He emphasized that in a rapidly changing defense environment, the collaboration represents a shared commitment to jointly explore innovative solutions for regional and global security challenges.
