Seoul: A South Korean woman in her 40s has been referred to prosecutors after allegedly trespassing into the parking lot of BTS member Jungkook's home in Seoul's Yongsan Ward. The incident occurred at approximately 11:20 p.m. on August 30, prompting police to respond to a call and take the woman into custody at the scene.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the Seoul Yongsan Police Station forwarded the case to prosecutors on October 14, charging the woman with trespassing and violating the anti-stalking law. This development highlights the ongoing challenges faced by celebrities in South Korea concerning privacy and security.
In a related incident, the Seoul Western District Prosecutors Office decided to drop charges against a Chinese woman accused of attempting to trespass on Jungkook's home in June. The decision, made on September 10, was based on the assessment that the woman posed a low risk of reoffending, as she had already returned to her home country.
The Chinese woman, in her 30s, reportedly visited Jungkook's residence on June 11, the day he was discharged from military service. She attempted to access the property by pressing the keypad door lock multiple times. Police apprehended her at the scene, and during questioning, she claimed to have traveled to South Korea specifically to see the K-pop star following his military discharge.
