Seoul: A court on Thursday approved the live broadcast of former President Yoon Suk Yeol's new hearing this week on charges related to his failed martial law bid. Yoon, who faces allegations of leading an insurrection through the martial law imposition in December, is scheduled to attend the first hearing of his second trial on charges of obstructing special official duties at the Seoul Central District Court on Friday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the court said it granted the broadcast request after the special prosecutor team investigating the case filed it, citing the public's right to know. However, the court denied a separate request to televise Yoon's bail hearing, and it is expected to provide an explanation for the disapproval.
