Pyongyang: North Korea plans to send some 6,000 military engineer troops to Russia, media reports said Tuesday, as Moscow's Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu visited Pyongyang for talks with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. The troops to be deployed to Russia's Kursk region will include 5,000 military construction workers and 1,000 sappers.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the reports cited Shoigu as the source of this information. The deployment comes amid ongoing discussions between Russian and North Korean officials, underscoring the strengthening ties between the two nations.
