NCSOFT Reports Second-Quarter Net Loss Amid Revenue Increase

Seoul: NCSOFT Corp., a South Korean game developer, on Tuesday reported its second-quarter net loss of 36 billion won (US$25.8 million), shifting from a profit of 71.1 billion won a year earlier. Operating income for the April-June period was 15.1 billion won, up 70.5 percent from a year ago, the company said in a regulatory filing. Sales rose 3.7 percent to 382.4 billion won.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the company experienced a significant decline in net income despite an increase in operating income and sales. This shift to a net loss comes as a contrast to the previous year's financial performance, where the company reported a net profit. The increase in operating income indicates improved operational performance, yet it was not enough to offset the overall net loss for the quarter.
