Seoul: Netmarble Corp. on Thursday reported its first-quarter net profit of 80.2 billion won (US$57.3 million), swinging from a loss of 9.9 billion won a year earlier.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Netmarble's operating income for the January-March period was 49.7 billion won, marking an increase of 1243.2 percent from a year ago, as detailed in a regulatory filing. The company's sales rose 6.6 percent to 623.9 billion won during the same period.
The company's earnings performance surpassed market expectations. The average estimate of net profit by analysts was 29.1 billion won, according to a survey by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency.
