Seoul: The presidential office stated that the allegations concerning the senior secretary for civil affairs, Oh Kwang-soo, regarding his property ownership are inappropriate.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Oh faced criticism for allegedly managing his wife's real estate under a borrowed name while serving as a prosecutor from 2012 to 2015 and for failing to include it in the mandatory property declaration for senior officials.
Oh, whose responsibilities include vetting high-ranking public officials and overseeing law enforcement agencies, has expressed regret and offered an apology for the situation. "There was inappropriate conduct," a senior presidential official commented, addressing the allegations. However, the official noted that Oh has shown "sufficient regret" concerning the issue.
When questioned about the potential impact of the allegations on Oh's position, the official chose not to provide any comments.
