Seoul: Prosecutors said Thursday they have indicted former President Yoon Suk Yeol for abuse of power, marking the latest indictment against Yoon, who is undergoing an insurrection trial over his failed martial law bid. The prosecution's special investigation team investigating the case said Yoon was indicted without physical detention for allegedly abusing his authority and obstruction of the exercise of rights.
According to Yonhap News Agency, earlier in January, prosecutors indicted Yoon over allegations of conspiring with former Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun and others to incite an insurrection on Dec. 3 by declaring an unconstitutional and illegal state of emergency, despite the absence of any signs of war, armed conflict or a comparable national crisis.
