Seoul: SK Biopharmaceuticals Co. on Tuesday reported a significant increase in its second-quarter net profit, reaching 29.5 billion won (US$21.3 million), marking a 20.2 percent rise compared to the same period last year.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the company's operating income for the April-June period experienced a substantial growth of 137.6 percent year-on-year, amounting to 61.9 billion won. During the same period, sales saw an increase of 31.6 percent, reaching a total of 176.3 billion won.
The company's operating profit significantly surpassed expectations, coming in 65.1 percent higher than the average estimate derived from a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm associated with Yonhap News Agency. However, the estimate of net profit was not available in the survey results.
