Seoul: Award-winning actor Song Kang-ho is set to star in a new feature film directed by Nam Dong-hyub, known for his work on "Handsome Guys," as announced by production company Hive Media Corp.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the film, tentatively titled "Gardeners," follows the story of Young-il, a civil servant portrayed by Song, who has a keen interest in gardening. Faced with a significant debt, Young-il embarks on a landscaping venture alongside a local troublemaker, leading to unforeseen chaos in their tranquil village.
Song Kang-ho, renowned for his role in "Parasite," was last seen in the 2024 sports comedy "One Win," where he played the role of a volleyball team coach.
This film represents Nam Dong-hyub's second feature project, following his acclaimed horror-comedy "Handsome Guys," which garnered him several accolades, including the Best New Director award at the Directors Cut Awards this year. "Gardeners" is currently in the pre-production phase, with plans to commence filming next year.
