Vice FM Kim Ji-na to Attend International Development Financing Conference in Spain

Seoul: Second Vice Foreign Minister Kim Ji-na is set to participate in an international conference on development financing in Seville, Spain, next week, as announced by the foreign ministry on Friday. The fourth International Conference of Financing Development will occur from Monday through Thursday, featuring high-level representatives from over 70 countries.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the conference aims to address development financing, which includes all public and private funding contributing to development in developing countries, such as official development assistance and private funds secured through trade and investment. With approximately five years remaining to meet the sustainable development goals (SDGs) by 2030, discussions will focus on scaling up and effectively utilizing development finance. It is estimated that around US$4 trillion will be required to achieve these goals by the deadline.

Key topics at the conference will include domestic resource mobilization, private investment, and international development cooperation. During the event, Kim will deliver a keynote address, reaffirming the government's commitment to international solidarity and cooperation through ongoing development efforts, according to the ministry.
