Seoul: A unique citrus-flavored Korean traditional rice wine has been selected to be served to global leaders at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit's welcome dinner, as announced by the presidential office.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the leaders will raise their glasses with the raw rice wine, known as "makgeolli," which is infused with "yuja," or citron. This special makgeolli is produced by Baedoga Brewery and has gained recognition after winning first place in the "unfiltered makgeolli category" during a contest organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs in September.
The prestigious dinner event will see the attendance of global leaders and top delegates from the 21 APEC economies, including President Lee Jae Myung, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.
