Daegu: His first name translates to "hero" in Korean. And Samsung Lions slugger Kim Young-woong lived up to his name Wednesday, playing the hero to keep his team alive in the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) postseason.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the Lions defeated the Hanwha Eagles 7-4 in Game 4 of their best-of-five series at Daegu Samsung Lions Park in the southeastern city of Daegu and knotted that showdown at two games apiece. The deciding Game 5 will be 6:30 p.m. back at the Eagles' home, Daejeon Hanwha Life Ballpark in the central city of Daejeon.
For a while, it seemed as though the series wouldn't go the distance. The Eagles held a 4-0 lead through five innings, while the Lions' bats had been kept in check.
