Seoul: Labor Minister Kim Moon-soo, a leading figure among the conservative bloc's potential presidential candidates, is set to resign from his position later Tuesday to pursue a run for the presidency, as confirmed by ministry officials.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the upcoming presidential election is scheduled for early June, following the Constitutional Court's decision to remove President Yoon Suk Yeol from office. Kim Moon-soo plans to submit his resignation after attending a Cabinet meeting at the Seoul government complex. Following the meeting, he will hold a farewell ceremony at the Sejong government complex in the afternoon.
After stepping down from his Cabinet role, Kim intends to commence full-scale preparations for the presidential election, signaling a significant shift in his political career.
