Lee Asks New PM Kim Min-seok to Prioritize Transparency in State Affairs

Seoul: President Lee Jae Myung has urged newly appointed Prime Minister Kim Min-seok to prioritize transparency in the management of state affairs. This instruction was delivered as President Lee presented Kim with his letter of appointment.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the presidential spokesperson Kang Yu-jung reported that President Lee's call for transparency came a day after Kim's approval by the National Assembly. Kim Min-seok, a four-term lawmaker from the ruling Democratic Party, has been entrusted with the role of prime minister.

President Lee emphasized the necessity for "all processes and procedures in policy discussions and implementation" to be entirely transparent. He stressed the importance of public officials quickly acknowledging any mistakes or errors, developing countermeasures, and taking responsibility.

In response, Prime Minister Kim expressed his commitment to accelerating the pace of state affairs, as noted by spokesperson Kang.

Since assuming office on June 4, President Lee has nominated 17 out of 19 Cabinet members. These nominees are currently preparing for parliamentary confirmation hearings, which are required for their formal appointment.
