Seoul: KT Corp. said Tuesday it has signed a strategic partnership with Vietnam's telecom giant Viettel Group to collaborate on driving artificial intelligence transformation (AX) in the Southeast Asian country.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the agreement, building on their partnership forged in May, was signed ahead of the Korea-Vietnam Business Forum hosted by the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) during a state visit by Vietnam's top leader, To Lam.
Under the deal, KT and Viettel will work together to develop a Vietnamese-based AI language model for use in education, administration, and public services, as well as a vertical AX platform tailored to key industries, including medical, defense, and media.
To strengthen AX capabilities and foster AI talent, the two companies plan to establish a global AX center for AI research and development. They will also share AI solutions to detect and block digital crimes such as deepfakes.
