Seoul: Former President Yoon Suk Yeol attended the eighth hearing of his insurrection trial on Monday, remaining tight-lipped regarding a new investigation by independent counsels into his failed martial law bid. Yoon arrived at the Seoul Central District Court around 10 a.m. to face charges of leading an insurrection and abusing power through his December 3 imposition of martial law.
According to Yonhap News Agency, this was Yoon's first trial since his case was transferred to a special counsel team led by Cho Eun-suk last week. During the hearing, Yoon refrained from commenting on corruption allegations involving his wife, Kim Keon Hee. An assistant special counsel was present in court for the first time to further pursue the indictment.
