Giants’ Lee Jung-hoo Ends June with Hitless Streak, Batting Average Drops

Phoenix: Lee Jung-hoo of the San Francisco Giants has concluded a challenging month of June with his fourth consecutive hitless game. Lee went 0-for-4 in a 4-2 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field on Monday, which lowered his batting average to .240, the lowest since the second game of the season on March 29.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Lee's struggles were highlighted in his recent performance, where he bounced into a 3-6-3 double play in the second inning and then flied out in his subsequent three at-bats. The second-year South Korean outfielder has been unable to record a hit since his triple last Thursday, marking a four-game hitless streak that ties his career high. Earlier this month, from June 18 to June 22, Lee also endured four games without a hit.

In June, Lee's batting average was just .143, with an on-base percentage of .277 and a slugging percentage of .274. For the season so far, he holds a .240/.311/.393 line across 82 games. After a strong start to his second year in the majors, Lee posted a .319/.375/.526 line at the end of April but then struggled with a .231/.270/.343 line in May before his slump worsened in June.

Despite his recent challenges, Lee remains a key player for the Giants. He leads the team with 17 doubles and six triples and ranks second with 74 hits and 46 runs scored.
