Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced broad gains today, with several key stocks showing significant upward movements. Investors witnessed notable increases across various sectors, reflecting a day of positive trading for many companies listed on the index.
According to Yonhap News Agency, among the top performers, KCC saw a remarkable rise, closing at 284,000, up by 12,000. Similarly, Samsung C and T recorded a substantial increase, ending the day at 152,100, up by 10,100. Samsung Life and KT and G also posted significant gains, closing at 99,300 and 125,000, with rises of 7,300 and 5,600, respectively.
Other companies that contributed to the positive momentum included Hanwha Ocean and POSCO INTERNATIONAL, which saw their shares rise by 2,900 and 3,400, closing at 78,900 and 49,300, respectively. Notably, NAVER and Kakao also experienced considerable upticks, closing at 188,000 and 39,000, up by 4,900 and 1,600.
In the insurance sector, Hyundai M and F INS reported an increase, closing at 24,150, with a gain of 750. LG Uplus and ORION Holdings also contributed to the upward trend, finishing at 12,900 and 18,510, up by 260 and 360, respectively.
Despite the overall positive performance, there were a few exceptions. Doosanfc and SamyangFood experienced declines, with Doosanfc closing at 16,600, down by 110, and SamyangFood at 1,116,000, down by 27,000. However, these decreases were overshadowed by the broader gains observed in the market today.
